In 1731 King Frederick I of Sweden received a lion as a gift from the Bey of Algiers. Shortly after the lion died he ordered it to be taxidermied.
The only problem was that almost no one in Sweden had seen a real life lion so the taxidermist didn’t know how it was suppose to look like.
