A Soviet Experiment - Pig, Cannon and Wine

Before the first person in space – Yuri Gagarin, Soviets made a lot of experiments with sending dogs into space to study the effects of weightlessness on animals.

A little less known is that they also experimented with Pigs. The cannon used was powerful enough to take the pig to the outer edges of atmosphere! Before launch they gave the pig some wine to help it calm down!
